The power of complete breathing
Complete Yogic breathing is the basis of all regulation of the breath.
The exercises in this mini course are all extensions from this fundamental practice.
Complete Yogic breathing is a combination of three phases:
- Abdominal (Low) breathing
- Thoracic (Mid) breathing
- Clavicular (High) breathing
It is used to maximise the inhalation and exhalation.
Its purpose is to strengthen the lungs, gain control of the breath, correct poor breathing habits, and increase oxygen intake.
It may be practised at any time and is especially useful in situations of high stress or anger for calming the nerves.
However, while its inclusion in your life will correct and deepen natural breathing patterns, complete breathing itself should not be performed continually - so be sure to let your breath find its own rhythm during "non-practice" times.
The benefits:
- Increase the strength of your lungs
- Correct poor breathing habits
- Clam your mind & soothe your senses
- Purify your attention
- Bring yourself into the present moment
